Calgary Parenting Coordination Professionals

If you have a parenting plan in place with your former spouse, but implementation has been difficult, you may choose to undergo a parenting coordination process. This process is specifically designed to help parents in high-conflict situations. It has both a resolution component and an education component, where you benefit from information about the effects of divorce and separation on your children and can work through the challenging aspects of your parenting plan.

Our firm can help you and your spouse achieve lasting solutions to preserve the well-being of your children.

Reasons To Choose Parenting Coordination

Parenting coordination is used primarily by parties who have a parenting agreement or separation agreement in place, but have ongoing communication and parenting issues. A coordinator can help you and your spouse improve communication and resolve conflict in a way that supports the welfare of your children.

How Parenting Coordination Works

The parenting coordination process is started when you and your spouse appoint a coordinator of your choice through a Consent Court Order or an Agreement to Mediate-Arbitrate. Once appointed, the coordinator helps you and your spouse improve your conflict-resolution and communications skills. The coordinator will offer information about the effects of conflict on children. Then, during open mediation you and your spouse will try to resolve your conflicts. If you reach an impasse, during the arbitration phase of the process the parenting coordinator can impose an agreement that is legally binding.
