Cody obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree (with Distinction) from the University of Calgary, majoring in accounting with a minor in Russian, and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Victoria. During law school, he worked as a research assistant in the areas of contract law and international investment arbitration. He completed his articles and worked for several years as a litigation associate at a large national law firm, including two years seconded to the firm’s Middle East office in Doha, Qatar.

Having gained invaluable experience, Cody left the national firm to find a better balance for his family. For more than four years prior to joining Walsh, Cody developed a broad general practice, including civil litigation, estate litigation, family law, criminal law, real estate, estate planning and administration, and business law.

Outside of the office, Cody can be found exploring the Porcupine Hills with his wife and four children, tending to his garden, or training at the local jiu-jitsu gym.
