Paul Reid is a litigation lawyer, focusing on commercial and civil litigation matters, and constitutional and regulatory litigation matters. He has successfully represented clients in the Alberta Provincial Court and the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench. Paul has also appeared before the Alberta Court of Appeal, Federal Court of Canada, and administrative and regulatory tribunals in Alberta.

During law school, Paul was a president of the Business Law Association, a captain of the Faculty of Law hockey team, and a volunteer with Pro Bono Students Canada. Paul also represented the University of Calgary in the Davies’ Annual Corporate/Securities Law Moot.

After beginning his Juris Doctor degree, Paul worked consecutive summers as a research student in the Canadian Institute of Resource Law. In this role, he was responsible for conducting research on natural resource and environmental law, administrative regimes, and international regulatory governance.

Prior to entering law school, Paul worked in Calgary’s oil and gas industry and for a national immigration law firm. He completed a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in English from St. Francis Xavier University, where he graduated with First Class Honours.

In his personal time, Paul enjoys playing golf, hockey, basketball, and getting out to the mountains for snowboarding trips. He is also an avid concert-goer and cinema enthusiast, and never turns down an opportunity to see a new part of the world.
