Gaganjot (“Gagan”) Dhaliwal – Student-at-Law

Gagan is an articling student at Walsh LLP in the Business and Corporate Law group,
focused on building a broad practice in corporate and commercial law. He has a strong
passion for helping businesses navigate transactions, financing, and growth, bringing a
business-minded approach and practical experience to deliver effective solutions.
Born and raised in Calgary, Gagan combines a local perspective with a diverse
educational and professional background, providing clients with insights grounded in
both practical business experience and legal training.

Before pursuing law, he worked as an operations manager with a local builder,
developing first-hand experience in business operations, client service, and the
construction sector. Through that work, he also built a network in the construction
industry, which gives him unique insight into the needs of builders, developers, and
entrepreneurs. He brings this business foundation into his legal practice, offering
practical, results-driven solutions.

Gagan earned his Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from the University of Calgary,
completing the Co-op Program,. He began law school at the University of Leicester in
the UK before returning to Canada to complete his Juris Doctor at Thompson Rivers
University in Kamloops, BC. His academic journey across different countries and
provinces has given him diverse perspectives and adaptability, both of which he brings
to his work.

Outside of the office, Gagan enjoys hiking, fitness, and barbecuing with family and
friends. A music enthusiast and car lover, he enjoys exploring Alberta’s roads as much
as international highways — a highlight being a road trip across Italy, where winding
coastal drives and historic cities deepened his love of travel and new experiences.
