Devin Matthews is an associate at Walsh LLP. She has recently completed her articles and works primarily in the corporate commercial and real estate practice areas, and also contributes to the work of the litigation team.

While completing law school at the University of Calgary, Devin volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada and completed an exchange to Switzerland where she earned a Certificate in Global Legal Studies from the University of Luzern.

Prior to law school Devin worked in the fields of corporate governance and sustainability in Calgary, acquiring a business acumen which she brings to her work at Walsh.

Devin has a passion for travel, which she has used to enhance her prior education and work experiences. While completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Calgary, Devin spent one semester studying at the prestigious Sciences Po University in Paris, France. She also completed an internship with a Canadian international development organization in Ghana.

Devin’s love for seeing the world and experiencing different cultures has also taken her to Japan, Fiji, and various European countries. Other locations that are currently on her travel bucket list are Iceland, Peru, and Jordan.

Aside from travel, Devin is passionate about her work as a Board Member of the Calgary-based Daraja Foundation, a health and education organization supporting orphaned youth in Zanzibar, Tanzania. As an active member of Daraja Foundation, Devin contributes to program development, fundraising, and volunteer placements. In 2016, Devin spent a few months living in Zanzibar where she was able to meet the youth that her work continues to support.

On the weekends, you can find Devin hiking or skiing in the Rockies, going to yoga, or at home with a good book.
