Ashley is an associate with Walsh LLP, practicing exclusively in family law. Ashley was born and raised in Victoria, British Columbia and attended law school at Dalhousie University, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. While previously only living in coastal cities, Ashley has traded a proximity to the ocean for a love of the mountains and exploring all of Alberta’s hiking trails.
Ashley works on a variety of family related matters, including matrimonial issues, divorce, parenting and support disputes, emergency protection and restraining orders, as well as child protection and child welfare matters.
Ashley’s approach to her practice is to truly understand her client’s priorities and needs in order to advocate on their behalf. Ashley’s practice is litigation focused. While she believes in the importance of, and always canvasses opportunities for alternative dispute resolution with her clients, Ashley’s extensive experience in all levels of Court allows her to also effectively and efficiently advocate for her clients in Court. Ashley also enjoys working as an appellate lawyer, having appeared as lead counsel before the Alberta Court of Appeal on several occasions.
Ashley is actively involved in the legal community, having volunteered for several years with the Calgary Women’s Immigrant Association, where she provides monthly legal advice clinics. She volunteers with Calgary Legal Guidance and has also acted as the Family Law Provincial Court Duty Counsel.
When not in the office or the Courtroom, Ashley enjoys skiing, both indoor and outdoor cycling, and is a novice golfer. It is however most likely that you will find Ashley and her adorable dog exploring one of Calgary’s beautiful dog friendly parks.
